In ten days the warn act will be over. The job market in okc Is tough and I haven't found much worth having. Has anyone found a job they love more than the one they had? Is the pay even close? My parents have told me it was like this in the eighties😖. I'm going to have to take what ever I can find to get by and pay the bills. I need health insurance for a pregnant wife. Somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to still hope Devon will rebound and hire me back. It's this stupid? One can hope right?

I am in IT and found a job pretty easy. The pay is pretty close to what Devon paid and it is nice to not worry about the price of the stock or the commodity. I miss Devon but my new job is really great too. I mainly just miss the people.
I have been through this two times. If you are young enough, look for job in another industry. There is to much competition for the few oil and gas jobs available. When industry comes back relook at the oil and gas industry. If you want to come back, you will have experience in another industry. Oil will go back up and then back down again. It is a cyclical industry. Do not be like the rest of us with 20 plus years experience in oil and gas hoping we can find a job that covers the bills.
50 dollar oil well into 2017. Don't see a big rebound anytime soon. I'm moving out of state for my new job as a motivational speaker. I have a nice lot living in a van down by the river.
I am most likely moving out of state. Move on, my friend. When (and Devon will have to) they bulk up again, you will be facing tougher competition than when you hired on. Best wishes.
It's possible, but I wouldn't sit around waiting for it to happen.
