Sperry will never be allowed back at the grownups table. Things are so messed up. Taking Sperry back would be to great of an admission that the deal is not going through or a bad idea to begin with. Also no top dog is going to lose that kind of face.

Sperry is broken. Layoffs or lack of were done with such a degree of favouritism, it's almost criminal. More people have been wrongfully kept, while good people like me were let go! I still wonder "why me"? But ? I just don't know. There are people there that I Know are substandard, but still employed
those sperry managers can only put their pants on one leg at a time, but they love to talk about tennis.
I just don't believe the Canadian situation at all. There is no way that management is full of people without a University. They laid off almost everyone of color in the field, targeted engineering grad field hands for layoffs and kept siblings and friends.

I heard Sperry has the best group of politicians in the company... simpy look at the regional managers structure and u know what i am talking about. How much the cost to retain a bunch of expensive ( yes mainly are expat) mid level management from Region BD to so called Region Technical Manager..or Region DES MAnager and the Advisors. And u still got a number of Countries manager or Area manager..which obviously doesnt come cheap. And yet they letting go the cheapest yet profitable/ sellable crews.

By FAR, Sperry management, mostly U.S. land are a clueless bunch of whiny bastards. Sperry peeps have been complaining like a bunch of babies since Hall bought them years ago. Sure, their revenue is (was) crazy good, but they are always unprofitable. I guess that's what you have to deal with then you pay long money to DD's that cant read and write or ROC guys that are in the office still making big scratch like they were in the field. You can only patch up that old clunker so many times before you got to sell or junk it. Sperry is obsolete.
Agree. Hal needs a real technology company for MWD/LTD, not grandpa's old tools.

I can agree all of our ethnic workers actually work and we don't have any problems out of them. The white workers have transformed my job into more of an HR job. Always complaining about their job, feelings, or the work environment, and constanly getting on to them about being on facebook during work hours. Its the oil field where did they think they were going to be working? They must skip that part in the interviews now.
Sperry's biggest problem is Canadians in general.
It wasn't too long ago that almost half of Sperry Niskus field staff were ethnic minorities. Now it's almost zero field hands are minorities. The optics looks pretty bad. Shameful at the least. Wrong people making decisions when it counts most.

That is the most uneducated, and you could possibly make. Oil companies are experiencing a shift. Baby boomers (experienced) are retiring. New company reps are fresh out of school. Buy your racist comments if I was from Canada I would feel ashamed to have you work with or for me. It's evident that though you may have experiences, you haven't gained any wisdom through it. Oil companys want rig experince, and not schooling and is why CANADA gonna be badass when things pickup. We had a lot of brown peeps before 2015 and now we don't... Cuz brown people arent from back home. hahaha. Now no one in operations management has schooling these days... because oil companys want experince
Perhaps. But not likely. When R&D isn't funded, and the mothership just wants you to feed the machine (without any regard for the donors health), the subsidiary company becomes weak (in this case almost obsolete). Who is to blame? Sperry? When Sperry was its own company, it was a leader in its class. Not that it provides profits to the great HALLIBURTON! There isn't any life left. A private equity firm would care more for the health of Sperry (and that isn't saying much).
