Thread regarding Vivint Solar Inc. layoffs

VSLR is More politics than the 2016 presidential debates

With the recent closing of multiple offices. This message is more of a heads up to those seeking employment in the West Coast So Cal region on what's been proven by numerous past and current (until their offices close) employees.

Favoritism and turning the other cheek are what you will be served while on the west coast, as its regional Luis Escoto basically plays chess with all his favored and known family and friends he's hired and put into management positions.

These 'managers' should have never reached their position as they all have been previously caught by safety guy Raymond Yokshas, some multiple times, yet Luis blocked all and any disciplinary actions. Raymond and safety leader Josh Hancey are jokes as well covering up such violations for Luis.

Our office closed down yesterday in Orange County.

Luis came with Ted (yet another corporate person that shows favoritism by saving Andy Moore which basically never done a thing right for the company) along with the OM of Orange County, and fellow pawn of Luis's, a kid he basically raised, Francisco Ortega. It's amazing that everyone in our office got laid off yet Luis played chess and moved his pawn (OM) Francisco over in workday to another office that's not closing to save him from being cut.

Think you can go to HR for something? Think again! Tessa the White devil doesn't care and Tina Devora is basically Luis's Queen in this game of chess that Luis is playing. Luis has her wrapped around his finger like a puppet.

I feel bad for all of us that have been and are still in the front lines for VSLR. Those of us that have shed blood sweat and years. Yet these higher ups that have shown favoritism and have not done anything correctly, which is the main cause of all these layoffs are still in the same position.

I also feel bad for the numerous customers that we've all encountered, A lot I know we'rent very pleased with the final process to get their solar turned on, now they will take even longer or maybe never will now that these offices are closed.

Amazing to see how these morons/mormons take care of each other. A VSLR past regional Doug Hatch can basically steal from the company get let go and come back as nothing ever happened to be employed now with Vivint Smart Home.

Hopefully the dust has settled and most all have moved on. Yet the only thing that remains the same is the fact that Luis is still a fat piece of sh!t !

NOW I know why they rebranded the VSLR name to GO. Basically letting GO of their employees, telling them to GTFO, GO AWAY while we try to save our own.

Very unfortunate what's happened to us and there's a lot of truth to this whether it was written correctly or not. There's been a lot of change that hasn't been in correlation with the company motto or vision; the company has steered off its path from making a positive difference in people's lives.

The Corp ops team is clueless and headed up by a bunch of guys that don't truly care. They promote friends instead of qualified experience. Straight from the VP and down

Shocking to see people still employed by the company on this post bashing management. It was the structure in place since the beginning of this company that caused this to happen. Piece rate pay was a COMPLETE failure and all the damage claims having to be fixed is the direct result of it.

It's all messed up...run by a lot of self entitled and incompetent people who once thought SunEd was the greatest acquisition ever. I was wrongfully terminated as part of a cover up by upper management and accused of some pretty crazy things.

All I can say is I'm glad I'm not there anymore

WOW! Talk about hitting the nail on the head!

As an employee from an office that did not get shut down this week. I have observed and witnessed all of the mentioned and can confirm all is TRUE!

Luis is a gigantic problem; socially and professionally. His biased, high-horse mentality will eventually catch up to him. Not a single person is fond of him, and I'm still with the company. He is a dictator, not a leader. His role should be brought down a few notches, as should his supervisors. VSLR has unfortunately lost what it once had; pride & culture. This is no longer an enjoyable employment setting. I'm already looking elsewhere. Good luck

I'm (formerly) from the Santa Rosa office, I was there for 2 1/2 years. Basically since that office opened. I've seen 4 Om's come and go in that time frame, all Mormons. Only 1 of them was the least bit competent, and he left 6 months into the job, well, because he's half-way competent. I have a 2 year vocational degree in Solar Photovoltaics, 1st level NABCEP, OSHA 30, ET Card, Experience in warehouse management, and I've been consistently marginalized by morons (Mormons) at every step of the way. I told all the guys that they made any mistakes they would make on Vivint's dime, and will do a lot better in a business that reflects a true meritocracy. I took a business class once and the instructor stated that "highly complex, tightly coupled business systems have the highest rate of cascading failures". I told that to every corporate schmoe I came across, and alas...cascading failures. As far as the original poster goes, sounds on point to me. Everyone in a position of authority I've seen (Except Rocky, Rocky is pretty cool) is about as sharp as a donut. Their demise is imminent.

I don't know who started this posting, but to set my personal record straight, I reported my findings on regularly conducted inspections, and filed required paperwork for actions to be taken for violations of safety policies. Rightfully so I am not privy to individual personnel files, and therefore do not know what actions should be taken for a particular violation by an individual. That responsibility falls under the HR department. I feel for the people in the Orange County office, the staff has treated me kindly each time I have going into the office, and I have worked to reciprocate their kindness. I know what many of you are going through with this layoff because I have gone down that road myself in the past, more than once, but eventually found new employment. I hope the same happens for each of you in the very near future.

To the person who last posted. How cruel can you be to kick people when they're down? I suggest you crawl back under the rock you came from and stay there!

You mean the culture where you have several over paid, under performing, self entitled people that think they are owed something because they've flown under the radar long enough for management not to notice the poor quality work they did in the past. Now that there are standards to be met, all of the sudden it's a problem.

Instead of taking honest feedback from people without a job, you criticize grammar and say it's not true because it's a corporate not a regional decision.

If there is one thing you could actually do right, take a pulse of your best resource, your people and listen to their complaints. Luis is a piece of sh--.

He will ruin the company.

you will see a mass exodus because this decision goes against the culture you have tried to create.

People stay and leave based on management.

This is a complete ops f--- up that will cause a sales death spiral with inability to fulfill with fewer people

Goodbye VSLR

Very easy to make these bold claims anonymously. It's funny to think that local regional managers have any say in company wide corporate decisions. I wish you nothing but luck.
