Thread regarding Williams Cos. layoffs

I know several people are upset with SVPs still collecting checks, but how is Tony Schroeder (GM of Haynesville Shale) still with Williams?

It's quite ridiculous, but he's a legacy Access employee. So that answers that question... meanwhile worthy people were laid off. I guess "they" will say they didn't know about the incident... well now they do!

Tony is a great guy to work for; he made a mistake-that's all. He marched right in and told management and was accountable. He is supportive, backs you up and let's you do your job.

It's tough in this industry right now and I'm sorry for all of the people who lost their jobs, but that's no reason to try to tear down those that still have theirs!

I've done way worse - just didn't get caught.

LOL. If episodes of stupidity were considered in the RIF, that tower in Tulsa would be considerably more empty than it is!

At least he didn't back a company truck into a fixed object.

I'd work for Tony any day. Great guy who had a bad day. So what? He didn't hurt anybody.

WOW....People sure are quick to judge others by what they "hear or read" and not by what they know. I have personally worked for Tony and what is being said about him is completely ridiculous. Tony was one of the best bosses I have EVER worked for. He is EXTREMELY smart, caring, compassionate, and knows more about this business than most people. THIS is why he is still here. He is a great leader, a great father and a great man. I'm sure the person that wrote this BS is perfect and has nothing in their portfolio of perfectness that they would like the world to know. Tony will be the first to tell you that he isn't perfect, and he completely owned the situation. Tony is a man of great character and I would consider myself lucky to get to work for him again in the future. You (whoever you are) should keep your opinions to yourself.

The idiot who is bringing up this old story needs to get a life. 500+ views and no trash talk in this forum? Sounds like most people know that Tony doesn't deserve to have this brought up again. it's old news. Move on.

Of course "they" knew about this. He told "them" himself.

Why is Tony still here? Because he's a terrific leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company. If you know Tony at all, you know that this one incident was completely out of character. If you know Tony at all, you know that he took complete ownership and responsibility for this incident. He didn't try to hide it. He faced it head on, both professionally and personally. He continues to deal with the repercussions. They way he handled the aftermath of the situation just makes me admire him more. I am proud to be his colleague.
