Just wondering how things are going to those who were laid off and those who converted to HCL. Any news?

It's all just "Fiddling while Rome burns". Leave. Go somewhere where the company values you as a contributor. BD has lost its soul.
I'm still bitter, I know that only hurts me but I hope BD burns up and the ashes come crashing down on their buildings. Is that too harsh? After 17 years of faithful service going above and beyond every time that wretched company lays me off (not just me of course). You could have offered to drop my salary to the crap wage HCL would pay. I got another position 6 months after being laid off with another Medical device company in San Diego. Wow I thought BD was run horribly this new place restores my faith in BD. I've been here a year now and they are being bought out by another medical device giant that outsources. I know the writing on the wall now though, going to hang out here until the final ceiling tile falls. IT is hated by all executives but we are invaluable, who's going to keep your infrastructure running? The CEO with his/her latte in one hand and golf club in the other?
The HCL grunts are good workers, a bunch of HCL Tower leads or what ever they called themselves are the problem, can't make up their minds on what role to assign their workers, too many chefs in the kitchen.
I am one of the IT resources that badged over to HCL in January. You would think that being 8.5 months in to the contract things would smooth out a little but it hasn't. Projects are being mis-managed and pushed back. Balls are being dropped all over the place. Us "on-shore" resources are barely engaged by our offshore teams. I'm literally sitting by watching things implode. I hope HCL and BD are planning for the mass exodus come Jan/Feb 2017.
TRUMP! Build a wall!
It's F^<KING awful! HCL is horrible to work for and BD made a terrible decision. I'm counting the days until my first year at HCL is over and I can leave.
I have heard from several who switched over that it's awful, but a few have said it's OK. It's OK now while they are still working on BD stuff. I wish all my former colleagues the best of luck. BD in the end will suffer horribly and the guy who came up with the outsourcing idea will get a huge bonus and then he will get the axe and no one else will want to hire him. It all comes out in the wash.
who cares. They won't know how bad the transition is for a few months... then, well, good luck!
