I have my eye on an internal vacancy advertised on w3. It seems like an excellent fit but at the bottom it says something like "due to blah blah we can only hire from the Cloud (nee middleware) division.
Now, I'm actually attached to Tivoli which makes me Storage, so that looks bad. OTOH my manager's manager is listed as Cloud in Bluepages.
Does anyone know if they'd actually reject a good internal candidate because of this sort of technicality? Anyone had a similar experience?
