Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

HERE ARE THE BIG OIL AWARDS

I've been watching all your boards for a few months and here are the awards from first to worst (posted on all your boards) from Shell to Exxon to BP to Chevron.

1st Place - Chevron - The "Street Fighters with Big Balls Award"

Easy to see why these guys stay on top and the stock market loves them. They will fight themselves and they will fight anyone! Whatever they are they are not passive, and will take what they want and need,

2nd Place - BP - The "I Didn't Do It, We Just Want To Survive Award"

No where is Moncado ever mentioned and these guys just keep chugging along like nothing happened and waiting for their glory to return. Their strategy is working and they will recover with the price of oil. They are moderately aggressive but seem to understand that they need to get by.

3rd Place - Exxon - The "Ignorance is Bliss and We are the 800 Pound Gorilla Award"

They just chug along like no one even knows that the price of oil has crashed and it's just another day at the office for them. Once in a while they get a little boisterous but usually just another hohum day at the X.

4th Place - Shell - "Major Oil Company Cuckold Award" These guys are so passive that you have to wonder how they ever lead the race (a long time ago) in deep water and how they ever even managed to do something as aggressive as drilling a hole in the ground. You get the impression that they not only watch their women being done, but they pay others guys to do them!

Thanks for the entertainment guys, keep it coming!

For all of bvb's so-called smarts how can he not see the waste and the bs? DW business still bleeding money and yet objects with minimal chance of success getting approved. Instead of vetting them well the good ol boys in nawlins pissing money away and to make up taking our tea and coffee choices away. Cutting down on restroom cleaning frequency!! I am so sick of these sycophants. They think so highly of themselves. Well GOM still spending way too much money. So maybe it's time to let go of the many GMs dotting the landscape down in the swamp. Just sayin.

Agree with 1vfs, no one cares about Shell! from a manager's,Team lead, Discipline Advisors, GM's and VP's perspective, it is all about reaching their 80 points and milking the cow as much as possible. They surround themselves with people that reflect their visions, embellish the work with fluffy powerpoints of emplty content then cascade the BS all the way up to buy time and exit with a golden parachute when sh-- hits the fan. That's the way i sensed it - and i hope this post will be read by board of directors members and Ben Van-Beurden.... I feel really bad for this once a great company, with major technical accomplishments, I genuinegly felt damn proud, with the alot of ambitions to help this company climb to the top, only to realized that i was too naive to think that way and my career at Shell was cut short at the expense of keeping someone with connections. While i'm left- the only bread winner of my family stuggeling agaist a market that is virtually in a deadlock state.........While i may no longer project a future in this company, i still would advice high up management to increase the accountability and hold people liable for the mess and crap they bring upon both the company and people that are the true asset can function without......

Actually completely on target. And we all know it.

By the balls doens t describe it as these are long gone. Somewhere there is one Yuuuuge big bag of Shell balls - possibly at the Shell Open or in the chevron HQ.

Just waiting for 80 points milking the company. The only enterprise they care about is their own. No integrity either.

Not on target! While I do enjoy watching my wife, I have NEVER paid for her to be "done!"
