Thread regarding Williams Cos. layoffs

Merger Outlook

Anybody formerly on the inside know what the merger is looking like, moving forward? I recall in a comment days ago before the hammer fell, someone mentioned that integration talks "had all but stopped." In reading several financial articles (i.e., SeekingAlpha), it is as though ETE is hoping to back out of the deal by making it as unattractive as possible: downgrading estimated synergies from $2 bil in savings down to $170 mil, and announcing it forecasts spending $200 mil in capital to establish business and operational synergies.

Glad to hear the merger still looks like a go. Those of us that got laid off would appreciate that big ol check when the deal closes.

The infrastructure preparation for the merger has not stopped. They are hell-bent on forcing it.

Integration talks have not stopped. A potential org chart is currently being reviewed by sr mgmt for both according to OKC insiders. SA is for chumps, real work is done by the large investment firms that hold most WMB stock. ETE comments about OK offices were to calm investors as to a) headcount in the new co and b) what was really going to happen in OK. Only real ? is timing. A 6/28 deadline can be extended to 9/28 by one party without the other's "permission". SEC still has not approved ballot language

It's really difficult to tell what based on empirical data and what's been tainted by the personal issues between KW and AA. ETE is still in love with the transco pipeline, which many other companies are as well, however, can they stomach the rest of Williams/Access is the question.
