Thread regarding Williams Cos. layoffs

How bad were the field offices hit? Barnett? Jane Lew? Midland? San Antonio?

How bad were the field offices hit? Barnett? Jane Lew? Midland? San Antonio? Used to work in some of these offices prior to Williams taking over and just wondering. Always seemed like the Williams/Access merger was odd from a corporate culture perspective and reading some of these posts, it seems like the two companies never really came together.

The comment about Williams/CHK is obviously not familiar with Williams nor Access assets. There was little overlap in their operations other than the northeast and northwest.

Only 23 seems like a win for the people in the Barnett. There aren't any rigs there, so what do non-ops people do all day?

Maybe the two week notices came in after the cuts, who knows?

Barnett had the 23 that did everything cut. This area had people that were hoping to be on the cut list so much that they had their offices packed for weeks and did not get cut. One admin even stated they were going to quit if not laid off, but like everything else there that was a big lie to impress people because that person is still there today. Maybe the two notices came the cuts, who knows?

You're right about the Access-Williams relationship never being formed. Access seemed to always have a "short man's" complex about the deal and tried desperately to cover their flaws. But if ETE comes in it won't really matter because both legacy ACMP and Williams corporate employees and culture will be nothing but a memory.

Hello

Williams bought Access, and they installed Access people at the VP Levels, This has a created a high level of conflict in the merged organization. Nobody thinks it makes any sense except for the CEO and obviously the Access people whose trump card was their relationship with Cheaspeake. I think it is all BS, since Williams has a far greater history than Access and they could of easily brought Cheaspeake into their impressive ciient list.
