Whoever continues to put forth "safety records" as a proper method for determining corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety personnel decisions is either a "yes man", or a...wait, I'm sure they're a "yes man" if they still have a corporate EHS job. But, I can't really knock them for doing what has to be done to keep their job, especially if they're in a position they have no business holding.

Perhaps the commenter about a "witch hunt" for Williams EHS personnel should look at Williams safety record and then Access' record. They were obviously doing something right. I agree with the poster about the large number of environmental people entrusted with safety. And then you've got the two "boys" up her assall the time that are in way over their heads.

She needs some direct reports that will be up front with her instead of just agreeing

Finally got a hold of a guy from COE safety and asked him if he'd heard from the person in their group I was working with on an issue/project. The guy said he got laid off. I said in that case I would just contact his counterpart and they told me she was let go as well. So they laid off the two people that did that job...WTF?

At least he answered the phone. Environmental either doesn't answer, or doesn't call back when they say they will.

True that to the poster below. I was talking to a gentlemen in COE safety and he cut me off because he had to go to lunch.

Do you know how many times we (the field) contacted corporate safety about various issues? The only people willing to provide support were too low on the food chain to make the higher ups take meaningful action

The safety coins will be really sweet in 5 years or so as desk ornaments at other companies

COE safety began to tank as soon as access began their which hunt to get rid of williams personnel.

Speaking of that safety coin...does anyone know how much money was wasted on those? After you think about that, ask yourself if you honestly think it made one damn bit of impact.

You listen and you listen good...when I say "you see it, you own it" that applies to turtles as well as raging health and safety problems. If I would have been the one to see that turtle I would have fed it my safety coin.

Stephanie is more capable than the former VP; however, she chooses not to use her knowledge. Well if you're background is Environmental, she thinks the world of you... she cares more about moving a damn turtle off the road than she does about her employees or the employees of Williams. I say that to say this... who in the hell hires a person with no safety experience to be a company's dafety director. God be with the ops folks!

Wait, isn't ESH the department that a bunch of managers fired last year for expense reporting issues?

I'm not much of a Stephanie fan, but I have to admit that she's far more capable than the previous VP. He could talk a lot about golf, but not much else. He was big on Mulligans.

Hello

I think she is the VP EH&S. I remember when they annouced her promotion when she traveled to OK.

Talked about seeing a turtle on the interstate and wanting .to save it.

I feel she is very good at keeping her boss happy, one of the traits of doing well at a MEGACORP LIKE Wiliams. Does she have the deep technical skills and qualifications to solve some of the serious safety issues, at Williams, not so much, just my opinion. Lets hope at least she understands the need for this, and retains these employees to do this, dont know .
