Discrimination based on age is illegal, but proving it in a court of law is another matter. Being in Texas only lessens the chance. And don't waste money going to a lawyer as they will just take your money and you will see nothing for it.

Age discrimination is common in many industries so deal with it. If you have 15 - 20 years with Marathon you should be at least a millionaire and be able to work at HEB for fun while still having time to visit your grandchildren.

Unfortunately, most Marathon employees have no idea how to save for retirement so they will die with a mouse in one hand and a new SUV in the parking garage.

I feel for you. I witnessed four white men over 50 laid off in my area over the past year. Some were replaced by "diversity candidates" that likely cannot comprehend at a third grade level. Just sell your stock and move on.

To the diversity training comment. Obviously diversity is made up of many areas. Race is only one of them. And its obvious there is age discrimination. They were walked out too. MRO does not pass in all areas of discrimination. Get your head out of your...

If that were only true @GGcVBTQ-3cum... Color of skin is not the only thing diversity encompasses.. What jobs that are posted out there right now have a clear age discrimination..

I've seen first hand companies targeting to keep folks from the 8-15 year experience range while laying off the older and also inexperienced folks. I've walked through the offices of other mid to smaller sized independents and seen their petrotechnical staff to know this... I've seen HR post jobs that say 8+ years.. but in actual fact that's a 8-15 year experience window...

Individuals should be hired based on their abilities and not by the color of their skin. If people want to preach diversity, then they should protest the need for more midgets on their favorite March Madness team.

You didn't pay attention at Diversity Training, it is not all about race.

The company culture at Marathon has changed drastically. Then they wonder why employee morale is going down. Coffee and muffins won't change anything.

Lets not get off subject. Tillman does not believe in diversity. It starts at the top. The diversity employees were walked out the door. This company is now made up Of Caucasians. Look around. The board does nothing. Shameful.
