Thread regarding Williams Cos. layoffs

What a relief today was. I was an extremely loyal employee who refused to quit, while others would quit and jump to another job in a second

What a relief today was and what a wonderful day it was to be released from the locks of Williams. I was an extremely loyal employee who refused to quit while even being hammered for "poor performance" , while i watched many others quit and jump to another job in a second, when they did not get there way. I always knew that Williams and other major corporation did not value loyal hard working and productive employees, they simply looked at them as a number. Due to my nature I would not quit, and remained loyal to the last minute, unfortunately it is clear that these contributions where not enough to pass the talent show. What a great opportunity this is, to move on to the next big thing in life.

If it makes you feel any better i have been cut. I am all ready looking for other opportunities, with several good leads. I wasnt clear with my post, meant to say my performance has been very good, however initially it was determined to be below standard, being a fighter did not quit and turned things around .

I have made numerous and very siginificant contribuitons to Wiliams over a number of years. What seems questionable is the retention of a lot of people who have no track record but have talent.

Anyhow, cuts had to be made, i do not agree with some of them, its water under the bridge and time to move on to something better. Wish the best luck to current Williams employees as well as the ones where cut. Thanks

Hammered for poor performance probably means you suck. I hope you get cut in the next round.

Williams needs new leaders regardless of the ete merger, lazy people need to go, and "bleeding blue" is a such a bunch of BS. Williams has been stuck in the 80's!

They were giving you plenty of hints that you should go apparently. Loyalty doesn't equal good employee. Feel sorry for the young bright people we are losing who could be the future leaders of the company. Lord knows we need better leadership.

Well if you were being hammered for poor performance, why would they keep you? I feel sorry for the ones with continued excellent performance who were cut because of the poor market conditions.
