Thread regarding Williams Cos. layoffs

So long

This starts the first day of my new work life. I have been making contacts and actually found a couple of things in oil and gas. It is going to be tough until the prices turn around, but it will not be impossible.

If I could give some advice to those of you that stayed. The first would be to work hard, and make your job count. Be the first to take on new responsibilities and try new things. The second would be to stay off these Web Sites, and not get involved with rumors. If you stick around these Web Sites it just makes you cynical.

I wish you all the best and good luck on your job hunt, and for those that stayed keep the working hard. Make every day you come to work special, because it can end in a blink of the eye.

Are you kidding, I am sure everyone that is getting fired today has all ready done what you said, with possibly a few exceptions. Are you implying that the ones that get the ax haven't worked hard and made tremendous contributions to the company , absolutely false. I do agree it is important to cut the cord as quickly as possible and move on to better opportunities.

Did you already get laid off or are you just anticipating it? I didn't think the lay offs started until Tuesday...
