don't know how many are in westlake 4. Heard the move out of westlake 4 has taken longer than expected as they now need to build a health club at westlake 1 before they can move. hard to figure out why they need a health club there, Helios building has a world class health club and it is a short van ride or a 10 minute(healthy) walk. with decision making like that, not hard to figure out why BP is in such bad shape.

Downstream isn't any better. Consolidation of all employees from Naperville to Chicago. Cherry Point and Whiting sells are imminent. Castrol to be spun off with hq remaining in NJ.

If these are Houston Upstream employees, then that must mean those in WL 4 building which is mainly GOM business unit. I heard those that remain employed will move over to WL1 and thus leave WL4 empty. Any idea how many employees work in WL4 currently?

Heard that Tuesday and Wednesday of next week Upstream Houston based employees will be called to an individual meeting to determine their employment future with BP. Employees are advised to carry their personal belongings to this meeting (regardless if they are laid off or maintained) such that they can leave for home directly after the meeting to be sensitive to other employees.

This is an incredibly humane way to do layoffs...that said, I wish the company had been more disciplined in the "good times" such that the layoff cuts didn't have to be quite as deep. BP is slashing the most of all the oil majors.
