Paying them based on graduation rates (which is what they used to do) but in no way has any control over, is completely unethical. Yes let's continue to force the students to PAY for education that doesn't warrant the tuition!

Home office or campuses?
happened. 32 people gone
So, the RIF is happening?
Well reps won't need to worry about they laid off most of them today along with admissions directors as a last ditch cost saving attempt.
Probably right. UTI is sinking.
Working a drive thru? 80% of those students would F>>> that up too. Its going to be more like welfare for them.
UTI will end up forgiving loans. Unless working a drive-thru is an automotive related job. Thats all alot of those dumbass students can do.
30 million on something they dont use sounds more like stupid than a write off.
30 million on new curriculum that they don't use, sounds like a tax write off? Kim are you worried yet? Corinthian just had to pay a lot of mula back to the students and government for lying and false statements, your next. Have a great day at U.T.I. your time is coming soon.
They wrote new curriclium 6 years ago. Still havent rolled it out to all campuses. Hell, they still teach carburetors and points ignition. Who uses that crap? Heck even hot rod guys use EFi.
Its no wonder the students are stupid when they graduate. They are training the dumbasses to work on crap they will never see.
If I was invested in that place and Kramer wasted 30m on new curriculum and they aren't using it, I would be pissed.
Well he did and nobody cares.
Anyone that has left U.T.I. or got fired is way better off, at least they don't have to sling the Bull sh.. anymore, lying to students, kissing assto get ahead, oh that's Fishers and Davis's jobs by the way. The curriculum is out dated, the students are asses, the management sucks, did I forget anything? please reply if I did.
Corporate dollars and greed.
I spoke to another former UTI instructor today. He is unemployed (by choice) and still better off than when he worked there.
Awesome.
They gave up from corporate first, the greed consumed them and then the instructors gave up because their hands were tied, the students run the school now, what ever little Johnny wants, little Johnny gets, the instructors just get sh-- on or fired for doing their jobs. Good luck to you instructors.
Its not a great place to work or go to school. They gave up.
So, what happened to Honda?
Gone.
International?
Failing slowly.
Who is next to bail or fail on UTI?
Anyone remember the Great Place To Work surveys?
Gave up on that. Kim, is that dream dead?
Remember Accelerated Learning?
Screw it.
Remember the new curriclium (CTP)? Finished almost 6 years ago and that loser management team at the top still havent rolled it out nationwide. (You know who you are)
What a waste of money.
If I invested in that dump I would want my money back.
Profit, profit, profit.
Damn right. How else are you going to pay for a upper management ski trip to Vail? All while the company is sinking like a rock.
People, Purpose, Profit, does anyone remember this saying? Now how about this one, Profit, Profit, Profit, this is the new saying for the past ten years. If any prospective U.T.I. students are reading these posts, bail now while you have a chance, the admissions reps are lying through their teeth telling you how good its going to be.
Kimmy, the Feds are looking at your school now.
Years ago, like 15. Remember breakthrough performance Kim? The focus was on the employer and producing an employable student. Remember? Now the focus is on the shareholders and trying to get the money back they invested into that sinking ship. Its all about money, well that will lead to the end Nobody will hire those lazy ass students and there will be nore more money.
I have hired U.T.I. students in the past, you are right, they want 30 dollars an hour, they have no tools, they cant figure out how to start a job. The big question is, how do we as the shop owners and dealerships get this across to U.T.I.? Oh , that's right, you said it best{ they are in it for the money}
They are in it for the money.
As a former Instructor I now do talent acquisition for dealers. The UTI students consistantly rank the worst. They feel entitled with the attitude that they spent the money now they get a job. The reality is they still cant do the job. They are lazy can dont seem to really have the desire to work. Add that to the fact that they carry so much debt that they cant afford to buy tools and that makes them unemployable.
Lets get this right.
Entitled + lazy + deep in debt = unemployable graduate. I just cant take a chance with them any more.
This what the Reps will tell the prospective student, you will make 100,000 dollars a year, you can go to the Mercedes program, you will have no problem finding a job in the field when you are through with school. Does all this sound familiar? I teach the beginning classes and this is what the students tell me. U.T.I is just in it for the money, management is in it for the paycheck, and the instructors? not all of them are bad, just some, most are here because they couldn't hack it in the field or they are just plain lazy. If any of this sounds familiar please chime in. To the Camden Kid, you need to get the media involved.
Half of the reps care about the students. The other half are just collecting a check. Butts in seats is all. Its a machine. Nobody seems to care that a graduate dosent have the skills to pay his/her loan, buy tools and live. The just dont do that good of a job. I hire kids from local colleges auto/diesel programs now. At least they dont start off 30-40K in the hole and are willing to work.
UTI from a stock perspective is begging for "persistence". Help them save all students!
Any manager that thinks it's not ethical is clearly collecting a paycheck.
