Layoffs in MPG were performance based. The group was larger than what was needed for the work that they were doing - mainly because the previous director wanted to grow his empire and get an ego boost. Almost all the poor performers/average performers were weeded out in MPG layoffs, and all the above par people are still employed (although a bunch of them have been leaving the company for visa issues). The management is actually trying their best to make sure those that remain are happy and are getting lot of good work for them to do.
Ex employee here, how was the last gem? Did the new Ceo mention any new restructuring?
And what makes money nowadays, anyways? The writing is on the wall all over the place.
Not just MPG (which makes a whole lot of sense and hopefully extends to FTL), but also the PVD team in Santa Clara I am told. Writing is on the wall, if you work on a crappy product line that makes no money, time to get out.
Is this affecting Ft. Lauderdale?
