Of layoffs

You got that right! I watched very good workers with talent get walked out while they retained almost all the middle management that has very little value. 1 supervisor job would have covered 3 worker jobs. They lied the entire time.

Don't ask questions, move on,get over it, or bring your keys to my office and I'll take you home!!!!!
Hager is trying to make the balance sheet look good every quarter, sure there will be more lay offs.
60.00 oil in the next 2 years is a pipe dream. Low dollar oil is here for a long time.
Well if there is pay cuts,Hager and the boys better br first. Should have tried pay cuts first before laying off.
If oil prices rally to $60+ within 6 months you will probably be alright, but I doubt the industry will be hiring. They will continue to re-structure and get leaner. If prices stay where they are, the company will be downsized until it is an attractive target for a larger company. At that point Devon will be a company with 1,000 to 1,500 employees. Those who manage to hang on will be the only ones who will be able to continue to work in the oil business.
There WILL be more cuts, until WTI rebounds there is no safe department, group or individual. It is all about dollars, not about you. Light cuts from time to time and more during mid-year. They will try to keep it quiet like last year. Lucky were those who left and were "warned". I am looking right now at jobs in my home town and first good opportunity I am out here...
Lay offs are not over until oil is back over 60. The next layoff is planned for June and names are being assembled. If oil keeps dropping it will be shear survival mode. Just enough people to keep the lights on and we are almost to that point. Look for more cuts each quarter and pay cuts. More cuts will come in October too. Losing billions of dollars each quarter is not a good business model. Everyday here is going to be tough. To keep your job you need to be at the top of the food chain and stay healthy.
We have been told that they are done with layoffs. Our supervisor has said this is true. Our team is seems heavy though and I am not sure I believe him. Most of the released members of our team we could see coming. One member was a total shock. He was team member that brought us all together as a team and helped with personal life issues even outside the office. I would like to speak with my supervisor about how I feel, but I don't want to be the next person to be cut. I don't know that I trust that the layoffs are over. I feel as if there is a need to take this time to look into other opertunities. Has anyone else felt this pressure? As for the next round, there may not be one. There was a slow bleed before they let people go last Thursday. My fear is this will be the way they continue to trim our teams. No severance or warning required.
