Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

Focus on Cost Cutting (non Client Facing)

It started in HR about this time last year and has just started again this week with e-mails starting to fly about veterans at the Sr Manager level in Enterprise being let go with the per usual HR meetings to come.

Not a surprise as there has been increased pressure from Finance and and Sr Leaders to focus on cost.

As usually we spend more time and money managing cost than actually doing our jobs no matter what your title is unless you are externally facing.

@prwm Right. And, how well this worked for Motorola, IBM, Qualcomm, etc. It's a race to the bottom...

Finance won't be happy until the whole damn place is run out of a third world country.

Experienced hires are always at risk because they are not as well networked, get unknowingly taken advantage of by the old guard culture as there are so many things they don't know (tricks to survive, crony networks that can be hard to crack, behind the scenes hr analysis where they know it's hard for experienced hires to survive, they don't get rated as well no matter what they deliver because of the old guard networks and lots of nepotism for the gang that has all been together for 20-30 years. If layoffs are happening around you, you need to keep that resume up to date, keep your connections going externally, and whatever you do, don't panic. There are far better companies to work for than Accenture. A layoff could be the biggest gift you get from them if it comes with a package.

The majority of everyone else is already residing in cost effective locations. Quite the master business plan for non client facing.
