I've noticed the "Buckle Up!" post on different company's threads when layoffs are coming. I wonder were the "Buckle Up!" guy works? I like to think every company has a "Buckle Up!" guy.
Why would more cuts take place after the 20% in March? I would think anymore cuts wouldn't happen until end of year after this one.
No doubt layoffs won't be completely done in mid-March BUT they announced in meetings today that this round (20%) will be completed by then.
And who knows how they decide who goes. Encana is notorious for using bullshit metrics to determine promotions/firings.
It appears that decisions are made at the very top. How do they determine who to cut? Is it performance based (HPC) or more like a lottery? How is the severance calculated?
Not sure about that, I think we'll see another wave in Q2
