The people in Cordoba were nice, but the political situation was a nightmare. It was virtually impossible to ship any devices to that location without bribing officials, something that is against company policy. The overhead required to work with them exceeded the work they produced, through no fault of the employees themselves.
Arris Horsham (Motorola) has always been infested with the buddy/buddy system of promotions and job titles. Many of these employees "worked at home" most days of the year, and had very little responsibility to match their salaries. There were those with Manager titles that were over only 2 employees, and they never came into work. Then they wonder why layoff are coming. The sad truth is some hard workers will be fired so the lazy friends can stay. That's how they do things at the Horsham location. Upper management there always required a make over. Good luck to the Arris hard workers.
yes, Beaverton was hit...not sure of the headcount there. I heard engineering and others were hit.

Everyone in the Arris site in Argentina (Cordoba city) got laid off yesterday (aprox 55 employees + 30 contractors). The whole site was closed down, after 15 years of valuable contributions.
Notified of some losses in Saltaire, Bradford HQ yesterday.
Many sites including Cali and FL. Complete departments wiped out. Seems brazen.
Sites in Cali got a huge impact (San Diego and San Jose), lots of employees were notified today. Severance package is excellent for those who have +15 years. Sad moments.
