Well after 18 years with Staples, time to give up on this company. Saw the great times when we had leadership and the company was growing. A few months ago I decided to step down as a GM making good money, mid 70's, but decided to stay with the company as a PT associate...mainly for insurance until new insurance kicked in. Of course the step down was for all the reasons seen here....no support, constant put downs, but saw the writing...older manager and high pay. While at the new location as PT I have seen things that I would have been fired for on the spot....IA double gunning the ZB, truck over a week in the back, store standards in the tank....but GM makes a lot less than I did and gets passing grades. Final straw was HR...in December I sent in the request to stop benefits...with GM pay benefits not a big deal but with PT there is no money left. Contacted HR, of course no record of my requests to stop benefits, etc....said I could not stop till June...going from FT to PT is not a reason that it can be changed.....and my Staples email has been purged so my records of sent info no longer there...So can not work for 2-3 days a week and bring home $30- $40....so once again Staples has proven that the associates don't matter..sad to see a once great company fall so fast.....Thank you to Otis, Demos, Ron and the score of SVPs, RVPs and DMs that chose egos and personal gain over the company.

I had 13 years, 12 of them ax a GM. Ranked in the top 3 percent in the company on the retail score card. Oh yeah, they forced me out. They promoted an idiot and he lasted about 8 months. Store metrics plummeted.
Ha. Mid 70s. Northeast sucky gms make 80 plus
I also left the store after 10 years. It was fun working there but no more. Lots of disgruntled customers would complain to me but what can I do. Don't plan a future with this company.
yes...
Did the GM know you used to be a GM yourself?
