Intuit has a history of laying off 10% of their staff every year. While most assume only the bottom feeders get the axe, think again. The company has a terrible track record of acquiring, not being able to merge offerings or over-hiring in select teams. The result is that good people leave or are "asked" to leave every July.

Intuit--Who will be cut this year? Are any entire departments on the chopping block?
What about #AgeDiscrimination at Intuit?
It's definitely not just "bottom feeders" who get the ax. In times past, entire departments have been let go.
10% for each team?
They got the 10% turnover idea from Welch at GE.
IT business company is a terrible place to work. From the top, there is a scare mentality to brow beat people below without any appetite to listen to bad news. Each Manager is scared of his boss and it traverses up. Responsibilities for a space is owned by multiple people (due to bad re-orgs) and ends up no one willing to solve a problem. But for sure will see how to blame the other one
