I used to work for Devon as a geoscientist but left a few years ago. It seems they are firing the popular, well liked geo managers and keeping the ones that are not hated. I guess back stabbing and ass kissing really is the only way to the top.

I worked there also, was the worst company that I have ever worked for.
In order to get to the top, you have to kiss a lot of the bottom.
