Thread regarding ConAgra Foods Inc. layoffs

Penny-wise Pound Foolish

Sean:

1) How many thousand years of technical and Sales knowledge and experience did you kick to the curb in your quest to make things better? Do really think that can just be obtained or recovered from thin air?

2) So you saved a few millions getting rid of the employee incentive program. Do you realize how many millions they saved the company? Don't they deserve a bit of that cash as a reward? Or is the "New ConAgra Way" " Sit Down, shut up, do what you are told and be happy you have a job"?

3) Do you really think the remaining employees will be loyal to ConAgra when you have shown zero loyalty to them?

I actually feel sorry for the employees who remain. Many were chosen because of political reasons or because they are cheap. I am still amazed they kept people with literally 2 years selling experience, at one easy customer, to run entire coasts of customers as a broker manager. They are going to be in for a tumultuous ride and should expect to work 80 hour work weeks and travel 80% of the time. There is no way the remaining jobs are doable. Let alone do many even have the experience to do the job well. I am relieved that at least I get severance. The poor people they kept will not even have the time to look for a new job. Good luck to them. They won't get severance, I will get a vacation compared. What I find hilarious is that the company is freaking out that the numbers are not coming in as expected. You know, business as usual. Well, I gave up last October and don't care one bit that p7 through p12 will not make original forecasts. I have zero vested interest in making my f17 plans good. I will not even apply to Acosta and I hope others do not, as well. Why would I want to continue to work with brands/ a company that obviously doesn't care about me or my family? I actually brought revenue into the Company, I am not just a debit towards SG&A. Well maybe Sean expects massive losses in sales, as that is going to happen and is happening currently. There are ramifications to decisions. I pray for those they kept, they need it, their families will need it because their families won't see them. 80 hour work weeks will now be the norm. This company is going to to go into the ground. Boy is that going to be fun to watch. I will be gleeful.
