Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

360 Reviews means everybody looking at me.

Am I the only one that notices that our "360" review process means everyone above me reviews me, but I get to give no feedback on them? That's not 360, is it?

Teradata is top heavy with morons filled in the top spots who can't make decisions, management with consensus doesn't work all the time. I feel bad for Victor who is surrounded by inefficient people. For a technology company it has maximum number of non-tech folks occupying the top slots. The only way to change the company is to start at the top and get rid of 50% of the VP's and EVP. The so called VP's are useless and all they do is go from one job to another. They have no standing in front of the clients and they can't even sell one deal. The day Victor realizes that he is surrounded by morons who don't have any skills that day Teradata will have the change. Till then the circus continues and all the employees suffer. If you want change then change the top not the bottom. The hardworking soldiers are not the problems of a company it is lack of decision making and taking ownership of those decisions that make a company great. For past five years Teradata has been experimenting with different things without focusing on the core competencies. The result is for everyone to see, as it has been a disastrous five years. The bigger question is why would the CEO keep the same guys who made those decisions in their jobs? For a company of Teradata size they need to get rid of all those VP's who are inefficient and can't make one deal. Overhead costs are killing Teradata. Look at Amazon they have a flat organization and they are efficient. All their VP's are technical and can talk the subject if required. They get their hands dirty instead of talking from 10K feet. When you have so many VP's the cost of consulting is going to be higher. It doesn't take rocket scientist to figure it out. When you bill customers at ridiculous rates to cover the salaries of all the VP's the results in PS are going to be bad. Teradata is a divided house and you can see that all the time with selfish behavior on the part of its team. I read in one of the posts from one of the employees and the post is right, it is better to sell Teradata quickly to one of the top companies and stop the madness.

A 360 Review of your performance typically includes feedback from your subordinates, colleagues, and superiors. It does not include your feedback of others.

I haven't seen anyone butcher the word "exactly" more than you. *smiles

With that said, I agree with your statement.
