I heard that today Anadarko was having meetings regarding layoffs. Not sure what groups will be affected, but it sounds like it is going to be pretty significant.

Too bad they did not just sell the thing to Exxon which would have bought APC a year or two of time before the end. Plus the buyout would beat anything management has to offer.
The less than 5yr and more than 20yr comment is false. APC has always looked at the low performers and gotten rid of them first. I want to know if contractors will get let go first?
You saw the announcement today, right? It's on the website and many financial news companies reported it. Anadarko Rumors? No, facts, there will be a massive reduction in Cap Ex and once that drops labor needs to go - there will simply not be enough work for everyone

I actually heard this too today from a coworker. He specifically said starting this Friday. I usually dont pay attention to the rumors but the guy who said it would not spread it if he didnt think there was some truth to it. Maybe he is referring to a specific department
