Yeah! Layoff has been a norm these days. But how many of the Next gen have you witnessed, been let go. Is it the ego of the selectors, that their choice is the best, or.........are they really too talented and too experienced to bring the OPEC back on their Knees. Why...Why... Why are the next Gens are spared and rated against the experienced employees.

What about those with H1B visas who are foreigners your company is sponsoring to replace you with cheap pay?
I saw at least 3 who were laid off before I was in early December. They're not immune to layoffs.
This poster seems to envious of a Next Gen on their team or at their location. Yesterday's layoff included managers, supervisors, office personnel .... down to the shop floor. Do they ever layoff the guys in HR?
Well.....he has a bit of a point. NextGens do get promoted into very high level senior positions very quickly. Look at the corporate sector. There is one person who runs a whole department and has many senior employees under her. if the top guys like you.............
Plenty of next gens have been laid off... The next gen program has even been suspended - No new next gens. i dont quite understand your hatred - maybe it's jealousy or envy? These are just young people that entered the company through a college recruitment program - which is quite common throughout the USA. They do not get special treatment or are exempt from anything, especially layoffs.
I was laid off, and I was a Next Gen. I was told it was strictly because of tenure, as everyone in my group that was left this time was 10+ years in.
I know at least a dozen Next Gens that have been laid off since August, across all divisions. I believe your perception is inaccurate that any particular group is "excepmt". I am sure that could be the appearance in some groups, but I assure you it's not a company policy.
Experience has no substitute.
What's your issue with Next Gen? You seem to place these guys on a pedestal. These are young college graduates that are still in a learning process (that's how I see them), nothing special
Next Gen will be solar, wind, biofuel
