I received phone call from HR department today informing me that I was being made redundant. Bit of a shame really... I enjoyed my 25 years offshore with CGG and forerunners Veritas and Digicon. It will be interesting to see where the current industry downturn ends up....?

Sad you hung on through all the mergers and changes only to be kicked to the curb. There is life after CGG, take some time, chill, decided what you want to do that will make you happy and forget this career.
There are a lot of Chinese incompetent managers in Houston.
No boats, no equipment, no money.

Sounds like sercel may be sold to Chinese company. Cgg's in bad shape, should've let total buy them when they had the chance!
Seems this downturn will last awhile yet... One of the worst unfortunately!

Yes, I got my phone call last week. Thought I was good for another month!!!! Oh well.
