Just talked to a friend at Intel that has been there 18 years and he said big layoffs are coming at Intel.
He's in management...so I don't doubt it.
He said some of the people impacted will be notified before focal, he thinks these will be ISP and other will be notified after focal, said these will be VSP or put into the redeployment pool.
Looks like whoever mentioned bonuses here at Wind River Systems being cut was right.
I say 2000 more will be gone and they will be notified before this quarter ends.
The PC market is shrinking so Intel doesn't spew $$$ out its ass when it farts these days. Time to offshore more work and shrink US employee numbers.

If the intention is to have more diversity, the ones to be targeted for ISP should be all whites who have kept this public company as a private property of their race. We need more Latinos, Blacks, Hispanics, etc. to make it racially diverse. This will also prevent the whites from forming groups and targeting others.

Very true. Only a mix of individuals from diverse ethnic background with foster innovation. Now, its just a bunch of whites and that needs to go away. Have more G/L, Blacks, Browns and Women to make intel great once more.

The other thing I've heard about WRS is that their flagship product, and foundation, VXWorks will become open source soon, and the other tools they've developed will basically be given away to Intel customers. Not much of a revenue stream for WRS anymore. I would think commissions and bonuses will dry up.
There were a couple of conversations I was in on in Santa Clara this past week. Some WRS employees and managers have taken to Twitter and Facebook to run down Intel? Not very smart.
Wind River? I've heard rumblings that there will be deep cuts there in management, marketing and sales staff. You and your products will become more aligned with Intel products and goals. Not much need for your traditional sales teams cosisting of relationship managers, account managers or system architects/field application engineers.

We received an outline from Intel last week letting us know that we won't be totally independent anymore and will be absorbed into Intel's IoT group.
