I have already posted this once, but when Vinnie Goooombah took over Region 1 he went through a list of salaries. He then marked high paid ones for termination under any means. The GM of Greenwich Ct. was probably one of the best retail managers I ever worked for. He had run one of the busy Danbury stores (there are two) like a pin, and for that he was forced to move down to Greenwich. Vinnie was in that store weekly harassing the living hell out of the guy, just trying to make him quit. Eventually he dug up enough cause to fire the guy.
Vinnie went into another store while the GM was on vacation. Ripped the AM a new asshole, and then transferred the GM and cut their salary by 20k. Another GM was fired for entering their store alone, 5 minutes before the store was supposed to open. His I.S. called out at the last minute, there were customers at the door waiting to get in, and LP "just happened" to be waiting in the lot. They got the tech sup to lie and say the GM constantly scheduled them to open the store alone. The GM did not even do the schedule in the store. They fired the GM, even when similar infractions by other managers were dealt with by a write up. Some weeks later, they fired the tech sup to cover their tracks.
