Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Layoffs starting in FT. Lauderdale

9am meeting, no mincing of words, our entire team is laid off (25 people or so, then off to another layoff meeting while the HR person took over.

Concentration on the core business that is remote acccess to apps and desktops that are being replaced in many companies (Including at Citrix) by web based apps that are hosted off site. No future tech needed. That seems sustainable.

48 hours since the 1/6/2016 layoffs and no story yet in the sun-sentinel. back in November they had a story the same day. is this on purpose to deflect from the headcount this time around? the story in November made it sound like not a big deal with only 50 people being let go in FTL. it seems the number is bigger this time around.

As a laid-off US Citrite in November, the Cobra medical coverage that was promised in the severance agreement is not yet in effect... probably because there are not enough HR staff to handle all the work and all the lay-off processes...

Sorry to hear about this. For anyone in security and interested in the offensive side (ethical hacking, source code review, application va, etc) check out Citi Careers who is hiring and right down the street from Citrix.

My boss just read a script about why I was being laid off.

Done on the phone.

Many people let go today in Santa Clara. What makes me feel bad is why not just lay off everyone in Aug 2015? You think you made it through. But in reality, they just waited, and pretended we were a good team member. And then they drop they news reading from the official "script." It sucks, but always have to say--their loss

I was told Salim Ansari's team got hit, and the Security Team (I think Anthony Ungermann/Bill Smith but there are a few security teams)
