AECOM layed off most of the URS staff and actually used the term cleansing the organization of legacy people. Sound like any other group in history who wanted to take over everything it could through cleansing? Absolutly the most unethical company I have ever seen

If ANYONE is surprised at this, you deserve to be let go. When a large company takes over another large company, there is overlap. Those who overlap aren't needed. Those who's job can be outsourced are let go. Simple. When you look at how much AECOM outsources to India, how can you be surprised. AECOM is not a good company. Take control, leave on YOUR terms. You're much more hirable as an employed person than one who's not...
Fight back. Don't just accept the severance and terms offered. Use their bad behavior to leverage other claims against them. Be ready for a long fight. They can be made to pay more. Ultimately your only real remedy is more money and any legitimate discomfort you can bring to them. Their hands are not clean, so there are many opportunities to cause legitimate discomfort.
