Got to know from an HR friend that there is a layoff coming up before the focal. Not sure about the count, which groups would get impacted, or any other details. But this surely will not go well with folks that are above the age of 50 - the very same ones that consider intel as a spot where they get paid for relaxing in the office. Those that are regular WFH will become BAH (be at home) without pay. So, better pack up the mess in your cubes and get ready to be escorted out. Keeping a staples paper carton or something similar (like a home depot carton) handy would greatly help gather your decades-old stuff from your cubes before you get escorted out.. Such a step would greatly help young folks (of course, college grads) making pizzas for the old farts get a relief and join intel where jobs were being held frozen by the ones that joined intel 2-3 decades ago. You guys can collect your severance and lead a happy life watching TV and taking care of your homes (reminds you of your WFH days, huh?). The so-called great java code troubleshooters can focus on troubleshooting issues with their home ACs or heaters - could even consider working on their neighbor's AC ;)

Hey we are unemployed and have time to come post here but what about you? Is that all you do spend time posting on Intel layoff site? Intel future looks bright with all these Indian RCG's.
