Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Contact Needed

Hello, I am the energy editor with PennEnergy.com.

I am writing an article about how layoffs in the energy industry are affecting lives.

I would like to know what your company gave you as far as severance and placement services, how long you have been laid off, if you are still looking in the energy sector for a new job, how the layoff affects your family and well-being, etc.

If you would like to tell your story, please contact me at jstenner@pennwell.com

Our reductions were in December. Warned ahead of time, but other than a pat on the back, we received virtually nothing in additional compensation. They did not feel like they could afford it. The few that are left say moral is very low. Replacement positions elsewhere are almost non existent. In my opinion, we need to quit purchasing from Opec countries and use the domestic supplies to keep us all working, but no one seems to be interested in a push back to Opec cartels.
