Wouldn't take days. In Chesapeake's largest round, they cut 900+ in a single day, and their logistics are much more difficult because of the campus setup versus all of us being packed into a single building. Could easily cover 1700 in one day.
I expected at least a blindfold and a smoke.
If thats the case, and the rumored number of 1700 people is correct... that would take DAYS to do.
In this case, I assume that it will be done en masse. Whole groups/teams being told all at once.
In an effort to not 'draw it out'.
Group meeting where you will be given details of separation program. You will then be asked to sign agreement with severance package - mainly that if you are caught sharing details with media or other companies you will lose your severance. Then you will be escorted out. Your cubicle will be packed for you, and you will be provided a pickup time and location for your personal belongings. Very clean and clinical. The process will rightfully not be drawn out and it will be respectful of the position you are being put in.
