Devon Energy Corp. announced earlier today in a email message sent to employees and staff the following:
-Wednesday, February 17, 2016 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. (Supervisor layoffs)
-Thursday, February 18, 2016 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. (Everyone else)
For those who work at Devon, we're praying for you to keep your jobs!!
Stop praying and maybe actually help us find a job. Besides, we're not keeping our jobs. They say 20% now but it will be 50-60% cuts by the end of the 3rd quarter
Good luck on the 6+ month severance. My friends husband was released today. He worked at Devon for 8 years and got 4 months and no stock. He was shocked at how horrible the severance was. I'm so sad for them.
I respect Devon for hiring me and keeping me employed for as long as they have. But I'm ready to get out. Will be waiting for them to give me a package so I can get paid by them for 6+ months for searching for something else. To those that really need their jobs at Devon, best of luck to you.
Hey, look on the bright side. Devon is only canning 20% of OKC staff. That means that everyone there has an 80% chance of keeping their job. Now, if it were up to 40%, then that would be the big crapper.
