If they're still offering an internship - take it. You won't get a job with SWN, but it will be experience you can use elsewhere when the business picks back up in 3-5 years. Then bank as much money as you can for the next downturn around 2030 (they're cyclical - about every 15 years or so).

Get a masters in something not specific to oil and gas. Or find a job in a different industry altogether

SWN probably won't give you that full-time job offer. If possible I'd strongly consider another summer option where you may have a chance of getting a full-time job offer.
