But Devon doesn't layoff people just like Continental states as well... remember past local media posts where they actually stated that? So are they "firing" everyone per say? In the old GM days you used to get laid off until they re-tooled or the economy came around and you might actually get called back. Seriously no one gets called back much in the oil bidness (yes mispelled on purpose you flamers...). Call it "layoff", but you were FIRED. Sad but true.
I agree with the post below. We all knew this was coming. Our industry has been under attack for over a year now. There are a bunch of Saudis, some people in Washington and even people here in Oklahoma that are really enjoying this. This isn't going to kill the industry though and what doesn't kill us will make us stronger. I may be looking for another job soon. If that happens I will leave proud of my contribution to Devon and will look forward to seeing Devon thriving again.
They said before the end of Q1... It would seem they didn't even have to tell us that much. Times are tough for everyone right now, but don't blame Devon. Blame the Saudis.
The way they are doing is devious!!!!!!! It is gruel. They could treat us as professional and give us a clue as to when and how it will happen. They are low class.
Laying people off due to low oil prices isn't devious... Sorry this message board is as close as you'll get to working at Devon.

The closest thing to a news organization that trolls this website is probably TheLostOgle... If rumors on this site were actually ran as news stories, I am sure the daily "disappointment" would have ran it by now...
Then please talk with your friends and family. The media watches posts on here so they can come video laid off people leave the premise. Have you seen how disrespectful they have been with people laid off from other companies like Chesapeake and Sandridge? It's horrible. Any person laid off from any company deserves privacy and respect. Please be courteous and treat them in the same dignity you would wish for yourself.

Those of us that actually work here know the answer to that. All other trolls and media please respect our privacy and what we are going thru.
