UTAS laid off 100 folks in the Chula Vista facility before 2015 year end.
Also,they cut all non Union employees pay by 2%, also forced 5 day furloughs days with no pay in 2016.

UTC Plating Facility in Cleveland, Ohio will be closing their facility year end, 2016. All Union and Salary positions will be lost. Except for three positions, they will be moved to the Independence, Ohio facility.

This is old news but it was brutal - keep in mind that the economy in Chula Vista is not that strong and that most of folks have hard time finding jobs - my sister in law was one of the folks who were laid off and she was lucky to move on. However, her new employer has job cuts right now - it looks like 2016 will be the year of layoffs.
