Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

The poison oozes out

In the boom days in O and G, we all profess to love each other, we are _teammates" .In the bad days of today, the real feelings emerge. And that's across all the E & P companies. Not a pretty site. People turning on each other. This is when real quality shows.

Manager traits: Screamer/Belittler and uses because I said so a lot = Bad manager with lack of true skills. I had both at Shell but unfortunately the Screamer was around during 2015. Luckily I found another job before severance ran out and found a great manager.

Spot on dude! I can reveal from own experience, if your manager is an old fart and knows less than his / her staff will always be insecure and will layoff off the bright employees and replace with the ones, the manager feel more comfortable with.

The funny part is Corporate always says they want the best and brightest. The issue is when you end up being smarter with more common sense than your manager it is a threat to them especially after a certain age.

There are reasons people are upset, you work your tail off for your company for years, the corporation makes billions off your collective efforts, and now things turn sour, they turn around let you down...they waist billions on stupid mistakes that you have nothing to do with and ultimately you and your family pays the price......this is not even capitalism it is pure and simple jungle law...meanwhile employees and families are paying the price of those exec's mistakes..... this is very immoral.
