The WARN Act only applies if 33% or more of employees at a single location are laid off. It requires 60 days notice in the event that employees will NOT be receiving severance pay. If the company fails to give 60 days notice prior to layoffs without severance, then the WARN Act requires severance pay for 60 days. Since our minimum severance is 8 weeks and hopefully we won't be cutting more than 33% in The Woodlands/Denver, the WARN Act does not apply to APC.

Can't happen until at least March 1st. The announcement was made on Feb. 1st and the WARN act states at least a 30 day notice.
I couldn't agree more with the last poster. "Performance" is subjective. You can get great reviews from three managers and then the fourth comes along and can ruin you. A better thing to evaluate would be performing assets not people.
It's also glaringly obvious that "under-performing" managers are never let go. If you're going to use the criteria of "under-performers," then middle management should be put on the chopping block as well, but I digress.....
Good luck to all. May the decent people keep their jobs and the trash get taken out. A lot of "humbling" coming, hopefully to some that need it.
Do you really need to call out people's performance at a time like this? Anadarko is as political a company as any other - it's not always performance driving these decisions. And if it is, I'm sure the individuals are already aware of it.
You sound like the kind of person who would attend the funeral of a "friend" who died of a heart attack, and you'd extend your condolences in one breath and then chastise the poor, dead bastard about eating so many hamburgers in the next.
This is going to happen this week. Watch out Wednesday. So sorry for all who will be losing your job. In the future just remember - your performance does matter!!!
Any email or document received?
Good luck to all my fellow KerrMcGeezers and my peeps in International Exploration. Hopefully a lot of you can just retire.
Do you think today?
