Having been an employee of Devon in Houston, some years back, I can say the Houston IT support and analysts were treated as second class citizens out of Headquarters IT. Support for Houston was an afterthought. Eventually Houston was closed, with very few tears shed in OKC. How's that feel now?

Houston is a shithold??? I am not from Houston, but I know that we are all type A achievers. Too much for you hayseeds?
You're screwed.
I wouldnt move to Houston even if it were my only option. Place is a shithole.
What makes you think I did not get an offer to move back to OKC?
What kind of moron would move to a jobless (in O&G), no culture pithole like OKC. Now if you were in Tulsa, that would be a different matter.
In any case, I sure you highly qualified pros have no fears, since you regard the whole process as objective. Idiots.
google shadenfreude.
I may be in Houston, but I am employed in a secure job. You will be laid off in OKC and many of you will likely move to Houston. So goes it, hypocrites.
"Making" oil and gas? I have no words to describe the idiocy that appeared before my eyes.
The few people I have been forced to work with that got transferred up from Houston are all suck ups or related to someone high up in the company and several were given promotions that they in no way earned, unless you count being a kiss ass or marrying well as earning it. There were several great people that did not get transfers to okc and it had nothing to do with quality of work.
Im willing to bet that no one still gives two shitty f---s about Houston, and it has no bearing on how OKC employees feel. I mean, you're a still stuck in that shithole Houston, right? Gross.
Sucka-mc's and Tha thugs in da houwse!
It's funny most of the people worth anything got a pretty good deal to move.a really great bonus and moving expenses. It feels pretty great actually thanks for asking. You must have really suckered to not be offered the opportunity.
The other ironic thing about closing the Houston office is that the office was regarded as bloated and over-staffed and they were focused on things other than making oil and gas. And then what happens not a year after the office closes- the entire company becomes bloated and over-staffed that focuses f a million things other than making oil and gas...
