I can see it is a growing revenue stream, but this is ominous: VMware putting all their might on a product that is sold to a very small high end segment of the market. I thought the whole appeal of VMware was that it's technology was applicable from 1 server envs to 10000 server envs. Now they seem to want to only make tech for larger envs like SAP and EMC and Oracle

The above is correct... However, there were many people axed in the NSX areas also....
HyperV, KVM has or will soon killed ESXi. That whole product will move to China soon.
The server business, hypervisor, is no longer considered to be a profitable business.....
