What are the odds you get fired if you volunteer to be cut?

We were told we could put our name in the hat but it may be different across departments. I think if you explain this to your supervisor/manager they would understand.
I was going to post the exact same thing. I want to volunteer , but I don't want it to come across as I don't care about my job, because I do. I just have no children, no mortgage, no car payment, and am in a better place to get laid off than the majority of my colleagues. It pains me greatly to think of my coworkers who have kids and desperately need the insurance. I want to volunteer but am afraid i would get fired.
If your fired you don't get the package
