The ERP program was hit really hard, about 20 folks were let go - we have about 60 people - There are rumors that there will be another round, with approximately 10 more people to be let go

Some may be confusing engineering rotation program with enterprise resource planning (SAP). I guess SAP related files never have anything to worry about.
For all those nervous engineers in the ERP here's how it goes......they keep bringing new hires in so that they can scale and score everyone's performance, then when layoffs come, if your in the bottom 20% or so your the one that gets let go. The friends you work with, eat with, hang out with, etc. are not realy friends, they are competition. You are evaluated relative to them. You can do everything you were supposed to do right but if 80% of the program did it better, you get the pink slip. Program ain't what it used to be..........

The whole things a debacle, we should have never pour so many millions on SAP it barely works
I used to work there and I left on my own terms. I deeply think the IT department has some really big issues especially in the structural, procedural and managing areas. It is better not to work in such environment.
I heard the rumor about another round of layoffs as well, although right now they're still just rumors. Still blows my mind that they're bringing in 10 new RE's in May. Seems like they're bringing in new people so that they'll have people to lay off next year when they do this all over again. The managers need to justify their salary somehow I guess.
