Shell is a company run by shitty people........, full a holes and politics, team leads, manages and ass kissing ambitous back stabbing bastards, males and females ( there are a lot of them).........btw, i worked there and i'm happily employed elsewhere......just put the word out there and lesson learnt for future people joining...do not apply, do no join they will lie to you and make it look like it' the best company in the world......once you join! Susprise, Surprise....fresh meat to cover the favorites asses once things turn sour and shit hits the fan.....no one will give the shit about you but yourself....that it the truth of this company........for all those team leads, managers, f--- liars VPs who took hundres of families at shell to hell starvation.......don't take a pride in what you do, you have only spread shit around you, you don't deserve to have that responsability.........remember what goes around comes around.

HR won't read this or if they did they wouldn't care. The core function of an HR department isn't to keep employees happy/engaged, it's to avoid lawsuit.

Everyone at Royal Dutch Shell HR departments should read these bitter truth comments posted on this site and try to understand what the f--- is going on with some team leads and managers? If any department has a high-turnover; it's a red flag and RDS should remove such lead / manager immediately before they cause more damage to people and the company.

I used to think that layoffs were tied to performance. Has not a damn thing to do with it. The current management chooses its favorites and everyone else gets a knife up their back. Any questions?

Well that's nice - the abstract world view and all. Meanwhile people are already being let go but in the most unexpected ways. Respect for people my ass. The usual suspects cling to jg 1 -2 jobs. Disgust is putting it mildly. I used to think the world of this company.

It's a game of chicken with the Saudi's except they are the only ones with their foot on the pedal. All the other players are just trying to hang on hoping that the Arabs let up soon. Are they right in guessing that will happen soon? This year? Next? Later? Never? In the meantime, everyone's shedding people and capital and trying to guess how much and who and what to keep in order to remain strategically poised for an eventual recovery. I'm picturing an old James Dean movie but with many cars trying to keep up with the lead car driven by a black haired fellow with a mustache wearing a white robe and sunglasses keenly focused on the cliff in the distance. Meanwhile, dozens of cars are trying desperately to keep up and are throwing off fenders, trunk lids, seats, and passengers. Still, no one has given up, yet, and the mad race to mutual annihilation continues.
