Maximizing Severence

Any tips or how-tos anyone want to share on how to maximize severence? I believe I'm getting called in soon and would like to take as much as I can legally get in order to lengthen my down-time between this job and the next. Any tips and legal advice would be great. Thanks!

Severance, no. Post separation, yes. If they have you train people outside of the U.S. to do your job, you can add up to $20k to your transition while you look for your next job. It's called TAA and HR has the ability to get you that. EDD says Avago has not 1 case of outsourcing with the acquisitions they have made. Another way to save money by putting you out of work

You can't negotiate severance. They have a fixed policy on severance. Sign or don't, they don't care.

Broadcom will never negotiate with you, unless you have some form of discrimination claim against them that is valid, and then its a different ballgame.
