A few short years ago "peak oil" was inevitable and somewhere just over the horizon.. The whole world was feared to descend into chaos and war as the world's supply could no longer meet the demand.. Economies would grind to halts.. Fruits would rot in the fields with no fuel to get them to market.. The current geo-political landscape in the Middle East was influenced by an American addiction to Arabic oil.. The term "American energy independence" was nothing more than illusion at best.. Then along came fracking with fortunes made practically overnight.. We got intoxicated on black gold and life was good in "Cowboyistan".. No need for a "thank you for sobriety from camal jockey oil", for financial compensation speaks louder than words.. "Independent Means Continental Resources".. Foresight should have told us that what goes up must come back down.. Look at the independence our work has given this country.. Our plight is bitter sweet sprinkled with irony.. In case no one has told you today; good job. Oh yeah, and thank you..
