Tales from the Bathroom....

Anybody else's bathrooms so dirty that it's not usable??? At my store there's feces on the walls, snot hanging from the sink, somebody's barf in the toilet, and urine on the floors. I try not to use the bathroom at all when I'm there, if I have to take a shit I hold it in or if I have to piss. It's hard holding a massive dump in all day and having your back teeth float constantly. I will only use the bathroom if I have explosive diarrhea. I have to hold my nose if I have to go in there cuz of the horrendous stench...it's hard to wipe your ass and hold your nose at the same time....staples is too cheap to hire a cleaning crew.....

I agree with Watching..... I was let go and they replaced me with someone making $15k less. My old associates are constantly sending me pictures and texts of things gone wrong since I left.

Bad managers allow low standards. Firing good managers and replacing them with unproven managers causes this problem. It's simply a sad marker of the decline... It's also likely true, not a joke...

Uh. This post is not BS. I used to work at Staples for 13 years as a GM and I have seen restrooms as dirty as what this poster is describing. I sometimes couldn't believe the nasty restrooms I would walk into especially at a store that we were having regional meetings at where DMs, HR, and RVPs were attending. Guarantee if I went to some local Staples in my are I would find these exactly what this poster is describing. All the Staples in my area are not kept up and are a mess. If the store looks that bad you think the employees give a crap about the restrooms?!? I wouldn't give my crap there either...

Calling BS on this. There is NO way a store's bathroom is THAT bad. Corporate, health department, etc would certainly have been called by customers by now

Bottom line, its the GM's fault for not making sure it's done. Maybe there is an Ops Mgr / sup that should be making sure it's cleaned or maybe the GM is female and never goes in the men's room, if it is as bad as OP says it's the GM's fault.

The statement you made should not be why Staples is cheap to hire a cleaning crew. You should ask the question why the person who is responsible for cleaning the bathroom not fired. I'll bet my money it would be you that is responsible for not cleaning the bathrooms.

The average sized Staples store should not even have a public restroom. We get customers that just come in to use ours, then shop at Walmart next door. They are the ones that usually trash it too. "Wheres da baffroom?" The other stores in our plaza all have "no public restroom" signs up on their entrance.

I don't know if you're FT or PT but what you should do (besides, you know, clean it) is when you have consecutive days off call the presidents # and pretend to be a customer and complain. I can not believe no one has yet. Tell them you were about to make a huge purchase, had to use the rest room and were so disgusted you just left.

It will go to your DM and they will tell your GM to get it cleaned. More than likely they will either come down to check or require photos of the cleaned restrooms and a hourly inspection log on the doors.
