No significant or almost zero engineering impacts in India...

Since this is a state record, should be authentic. In ASIA there is no arrangement to announce layoff numbers.

But why official record showing around 700 headcounts cut in Irvine on 3/31?

Here is what hock did with his previous acquisitions

1) He minimizes all support organizations. HR, IT, Finance, Legal..etc, etc. you can't sell these. This also mean any centralized big ticket item perks. So, if you have a broadcom park in the mountain, that might be sold soon.

2) If you are a revenue generation BU, then it depends on whether he wants to keep you around. He will sell you before he lay you off.

3) He does not do across the board layoff.

4) He will force BUs to a certain financial metric. So, this might ripple down as layoff from BU GMs.

5) I don't know what he did on sales but he practically run sales

I am on both sides of the fence on this. At the end of the day its a business and we shouldn't have expected "Henry and Co" to be there for our needs forever. At the same time they sold to a damn foreign company that couldn't care less about their employees and they just outsource everything and be "Good Enough" in the industry.

Obviously you are Hock Tan's dk s***r, so noting more is expected from you. We are original BRCM builders, who made our co-founder Billionaires, for the name of mostly job satisfaction. Yes, I got rewarded bit more but not even millions, but I thought this was my home. Now I feel like I am prostitute sold by pimp Henry Samueli & Co. for their enjoyment

Not everyone hate him. Only employees/engineers. I'm sure the shareholders love him, at least, at this moment.

Aprox 110 people impacted in India (Banglore, Hyderabad , Mumbai) out of which almost half are from IT. Around 10 day-one exits mostly from HR, recuitment team. Rest are in transition for two months to an year.

Why does everyone hate the CEO? He's doing what he's supposed to be doing. Do you all expect him to walk on water and heal the sick? He is a highly qualified individual for his position, which is more than I can say compared to the last CEO.

Who says no impact in Asia? In India, layoffs happened and people are in transition. I don't know the percentage of layoffs, but sizable numbers for sure

The CEO only reports to the stakeholders, the employees don't count. Zero communication is a very good start and really builds trust

Does anyone have any real numbers? Why are people scared to post? What happened to old Emulex? Wish you all the very best. Remember, Karma is a bitch.

What I heard is HR, IT, Finance 100% gone (layoff or transition). Sales/FAE 50% cut and 15% absorbed by BU. Operations such as central engineering, logistic, procurement, test engineering, product engineering are affected badly 50-80% depending on function. Sooner or later will all be moved to Malaysia and only BU will be kept in US. BU is much less impacted compared to supporting function, but no idea about the percentage. The bluetooth team seems all gone.
